We are committed to facing the challenges faced by the planet, our people, and our communities at large – while running a business that is ethical, fair, and transparent.

Planet

Our commitment to responsible environmental practices includes expanded prioritization of sustainability in our offices, along with ambitious goals to reduce our global impact for the long term.

Energy-saving initiatives

By measuring energy usage and carbon emissions at key sites, we strive to meet even higher environmental standards as we expand into new spaces and renovate existing offices. We are implementing a plan to reduce our water usage by 10% by 2025.

Sustainable employee practices

Pega recently launched Green Teams to engage global employees in sustainable practices. Each team of sustainability ambassadors is dedicated to driving adoption of green initiatives to the broader employee population.

Environmental goal setting

Using the international reporting convention for organizational greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, we are committed to achieving net-zero emissions for our key offices for Scopes 1 and 2 by 2025; zeroing out Scope 1 with 700 carbon offsets; as well as purchasing 7,600 RECs to offset the balance of our scope 2 gases.

Public transportation incentives

In Cambridge, employees can opt for reduced-cost commuter rail and subway passes, as well as subsidies to those who walk and bike to work. In India, Pega facilitates colleague carpools in Hyderabad and Bangalore.

Our corporate headquarters in Cambridge, Massachusetts received Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certification. We also recently completed IGBC gold certification for health and wellness on our Hyderabad, India office.

Pega’s well-being program, PegaUp!, supports four pillars of health: physical, emotional, personal, and financial. We offer valuable tools such as Headspace and BurnAlong, as well as global health challenges, monthly newsletters, events, and webinars.

Giving & volunteering

All employees have two days of paid Volunteer Time Off per year to support the organizations they care about. Our employee-led giving program enables employees to request a donation from Pega to a charity they personally support.

Building stronger communities

Our global social impact program, PegaCares, supports initiatives focused on women and girls in technology, education and youth development, as well as environmental sustainability – in addition to partnering with nonprofit organizations that foster the advancement of underserved populations and equitable participation in tech.

Crisis response

In response to the pandemic, Pega and our employees donated nearly $400,000 to the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund for the World Health Organization, and launched an Employee Pledge Fund to support colleagues whose households faced economic stress due to the loss of their partner’s or spouse’s job or small business.

Board of directors

We aim to create and maintain a Board with a diversity of professional experiences, opinions, perspectives, and backgrounds. Members have experience and tenure in leadership, technology, international operations and growth, and sales and marketing.

Committees

Our Audit Committee oversees the accounting and financial reporting processes and the audits of the financial statements of the corporation. The Compensation Committee is responsible for overseeing the compensation of the Company’s employees. The Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee oversees the corporate governance guidelines and identifies qualified board candidates.

Code of Conduct

Our Code of Conduct outlines our commitment to the ethical and legal standards we expect all personnel to observe when dealing with the company, their colleagues, our customers, partners, suppliers, and others. Our Supplier Code of Conduct outlines our expectation that all Pega suppliers conduct themselves ethically and with integrity.
