Last updated: September 10, 2021

Pega’s Trademark and Copyright Guidelines (“Guidelines”) have been created to help our employees, clients, partners, licensees, outside suppliers and vendors, and other third parties understand how to use Pega’s brand assets correctly, including Pega logos, trademarks, service marks, and any other word, name, phrase, image, or other designation that identifies the source or origin of any of Pega’s products or services (“Pega Brand Assets”). You are permitted to use the Pega Brand Assets only in accordance with these Guidelines and the Pega Logo Use Standards for Third Parties here. Any use of the Pega Brand Assets contrary to the Guidelines or Logo Use Standards for Third Parties is prohibited. Pega reserves the right to revise or update the Guidelines and Logo Use Standards at any time in its sole discretion.

The Pega Brand Assets are Pega intellectual property and among our most valuable assets. To preserve and protect these assets, it is essential that they are used properly. Follow these Guidelines and our Pega Logo Use Standards for Third Parties for using Pega’s Brand Assets correctly in all communications, documents, and electronic messages. By using or referring to any Pega Brand Asset, you agree to comply with the Guidelines and the Pega Terms of Use. You also acknowledge that Pega is the sole owner of the Pega Brand Assets, agree not to challenge or interfere with Pega’s rights in its Brand Assets, and agree that all goodwill derived from use of the Pega Brand Assets inures only to the benefit of Pega. We may review use of our Pega Brand Assets at any time, and we reserve the right to terminate or modify any permissions granted by Pega.

If you have a separate written agreement with Pega including, but not limited to, a Pega Partners Program Agreement or any other partnership or sponsorship agreement, that agreement may include different or additional terms concerning the use of the Pega Brand Assets. If so, please follow the specific guidelines in your agreement as well as these Guidelines. To the extent these terms differ, the specific guidelines in your agreement will govern your use of the Pega Brand Assets.

Pega Brand Assets

For purposes of clarification, the Pega Brand Assets include both registered and unregistered trademarks and service marks of Pegasystems, including the Pega word mark and the Pegasus symbol, the Pega vertical logo and horizontal logo, and other Pega slogans and taglines. The Pega logo is comprised of the Pegasus symbol used in connection with the PEGA word mark.

General Guidelines

Dos and Don’ts for using Pega brand assets

You may only use the Pega Brand Assets in the most current form provided by Pega in the Pega Logo Use Standards for Third Parties here and in accordance with these Guidelines, including the Dos and Don’ts and Media-specific Dos and Don’ts outlined below.

If you have obtained permission to use the Pega logo and you are designing your own website and marketing materials, including social media, do not imitate the distinctive look and feel of any of Pega’s website, apps, logos, trade dress, slogans, concepts, taglines, color scheme, icons, or marketing materials. Also, do not register or use a domain name that incorporates “Pega” or any confusingly similar term in the domain name itself.

Trademarks are adjectives used to modify nouns; the noun is the generic name of a product or service. Be careful when using any Pega trademark in text. Refrain from using any Pega trademark as a noun or verb, or in a plural or possessive form. For example, you can use the Pega trademark as an adjective followed by the appropriate noun identifying the relevant product or service (e.g., “the Pega Infinity™ enterprise software suite”).

When you reference Pega, your reference must clearly and accurately indicate your relationship to Pega.

Do not use the Pega Brand Assets in a way that suggests or implies sponsorship or endorsement by Pega, or any affiliation with Pega, including but not limited to making the Pega Brand Assets larger or more prominently placed than your own company brand or trademark.

Do not use the Pega Brand Assets as part of any of your own trademarks, logos, trade or company names, icons, product or feature names, domain names, email addresses, social media handles, or avatars. For example, do not physically combine or integrate any Pega Brand Assets with your own trademarks or logo; they must remain separate.

Do not modify the Pega Brand Assets in any way, including by changing any colors or dimensions, obstructing or layering over any part of the asset, or adding your own text or design elements.

Do not use any Pega Brand Asset in a false, damaging or derogatory way, or in connection with any social media or website that violates any law or Pega’s Terms of Use Agreement.

Trademark and copyright use

You may indicate the relationship of your products or services to Pega products, services, or solutions by using accurate, descriptive statements, for example, “for Pega Platform™,” “for use with Pega Customer Service™ application,” or “works with Pega software” in connection with your product or service name, provided that your product or service is in fact compatible with, or otherwise works with, the referenced Pega products, services, or solutions.

Use of trademark attribution and credit lines

The simplest way to recognize Pega trademarks is with an attribution statement. All advertisements, collateral, promotional materials, documentation, etc., containing Pega trademarks should include the following trademark attribution statement.

“Pegasystems, Pega, and the Pega logo are trademarks or registered trademarks of Pegasystems Inc. and/or its affiliates. All other trademarks are the property of their respective owners.”

The credit line may appear anywhere on the collateral, but typically is displayed on a copyright page, the back of a manual, or at the end of a document.

You may also use the ™ trademark symbol with the first, most prominent appearance of each “Pega” product brand name in text or body copy within advertisements, promotional materials, documentation, and web pages.

XYZ Corporation, a member of the Pega Partners Program, has developed the ABC software suite for use with the industry-leading Pega Platform™. The ABC software solution is one of numerous products XYZ has developed that complement leading Pega offerings, including the Pega Customer Service™ application.

Do not vary Pega trademarks by changing their spelling or abbreviating them. For example, “Pega Customer Decision Hub™” not “CDH.” However, you may shorten it to “Customer Decision Hub” after the first, trademarked mention.
