The Business Issue

Bradesco Seguros is the largest insurance company in Latin America, with a network of 27,000 insurance brokers. The organization brings in close to $11 billion annually and pays out $9 billion in claims.

Like many companies of this size and scale, Bradesco Seguros relied on aging legacy systems to support its IT infrastructure. In addition, the company was facing increasing demand to distribute products hosted on these legacy systems on several different channels.

The Solution

Bradesco Seguros used the Pega Platform™ to connect to multiple back ends — with a common product configuration engine built on top of the Pega for Insurance framework. Next, the organization connected its different distribution channels to the Pega Platform, facilitating the construction of solutions for product offerings, quotations, customer onboarding, and policy issuing.

The Results

Bradesco Seguros was able to revolutionize product distribution by:

  • Reducing lead time to issue a life certificate from five days to one day
  • Reducing lead time to issue a pension fund proposal from 28 days to one day
  • Increasing efficiency in closing deals from 3% to 8%
