Pega Announces Partnership with IT Career Development Organisation, WithYouWithMe to Train Ex-Military in Critical IT Skills

The partnership has the dual benefits of enhancing the employability prospects of Veterans post their service, whilst providing tangible benefits to the Australian economy, through the provision of effective training and digital skills

SYDNEY, Australia – June 9, 2021 – Pegasystems Inc. (NASDAQ: PEGA), the software company that crushes business complexity, today announced its partnership with     WithYouWithMe, the tech organisation that is making talent more accessible globally. As part of the partnership, Pega will provide free training to WithYouWithMe students to train up Pega certified professionals, ready to start work on projects that require the specific Pega qualifications in process automation to help fulfill the digital skills gap.

WithYouWithMe aims to help address underemployment among ex-military personnel, which it does by making technology roles more accessible, focusing on individuals’ potential, not experience. Its free online training programs last for up to 12 weeks and give ex-military personnel the skills needed to pursue careers as IT professionals in IT support, software engineering, cybersecurity, data analytics, intelligent automation and/or systems engineering, and project support.

With a presence across the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, the partnership is born from its commitment and investment in the Australian market. In the last two years, WithYouWithMe has trained over 1,600 veterans, with 1,380 placed into employment directly, 92% of which were retained permanently in the first 18 months. With the support of Pega, WithYouWithMe is expecting to train over 500 veterans in 2021.

Quotes & Commentary:

Michael Evans, vice president Australia and New Zealand at Pega:

“I am pleased that through this partnership we are enabling Veterans to enhance their employability, post their service, into tangible roles that recognise the inherent skills that they acquired during their service.  Such a partnership is also creating a talented pool of digitally trained professionals that will provide a valuable contribution to a modern and vibrant Australian economy.”

Pablo Quintana, former sailor at Royal Australian Navy and WithYouWithMe program participant:

"Leaving the Royal Australian Navy, I found it difficult to adapt to anything new. I went from being a cook in a cafe, to a janitor and was even considering working at a fast-food restaurant. None of my skills at the time felt transferable. That changed when I found WithYouWithMe and heard about their partnership with Pega. I couldn’t believe I’d get paid to learn and upskill in their low-code platform, and then be offered a job at the end of the training straight away, it almost seemed too good to be true."

Tom Moore, CEO and co-founder at WithYouWithMe:

"We are super excited to scale our program with Pega to help turn Aussie diggers into developers in two weeks. We tested 30,000 veterans and found that 67% have the same aptitude traits as the best software engineers, yet often they’re not given a fighting chance. When veterans are empowered and trained by Pega on their low-code platform, they are able to break through into tech roles that were previously inaccessible to them."
