“My greatest professional satisfaction comes whenever I get to see the technology we build touch the lives of real people in positive and meaningful ways. That’s how we make a difference. That’s our legacy.”
Mike Pyle
Mike formulates and evolves Pega’s strategic technology roadmap. This ensures our clients benefit from the best emerging and innovative technological capabilities in their use of Pega products to drive superior business outcomes. In his role, Mike explores technology and software architecture trends across industry and academia and works closely with Pega Product Engineering, partners, and clients to collaborate on optimal adoption strategies.
Mike joined Pega in 1985 as part of what was then a small engineering team of 12 people. Under his leadership, the Pega Technology group grew into a highly skilled, innovative team of over 1500 members, encompassing Engineering, Global Client Support, and Pega Cloud Architecture and Operations, with centers in India, Poland, and the Netherlands to augment the company’s United States presence.
Mike is a passionate software engineer who brings that commitment to his role at Pega. During his tenure, he has been instrumental in evolving the technical architecture and feature content of Pega’s products to meet critical business challenges, focused on delivering solutions that provide tangible value and touch the lives of people every day.
He has particularly valued opportunities to work directly in the field with many of the world’s pre-eminent business and government organizations to design and deploy successful business transformations leveraging innovative technology. These include large financial institutions in Europe and the United States, the UK Government Tax Authority, and most recently the U.S. Census Bureau conducting the 2020 Decennial Census.
Mike has played an integral role in ensuring the adoption of agile development methodologies across the corporation, participating in local agile communities and focusing Pega’s team on software craftmanship best practices. He also plays a key role in developing Pega’s future leaders by supporting internship programs as well as teaching and mentoring staff while encouraging them to contribute beyond their core technical skillset.
Prior to joining Pega, Mike served in software engineering roles with several departments of the UK Government and within the Financial Services sector in London and New York. He holds a BCS degree from the Civil Service College in London, with specializations in operating systems and systems programming.
