Pega Receives Silver Award from the UK Defence Employer Recognition Scheme

Prestigious award recognises Pega’s proactive approach to ensuring the UK Armed Forces community is not unfairly disadvantaged due to their commitment to serve

READING, UK. – 27 October, 2022 – Pegasystems Inc. (NASDAQ: PEGA), the low-code platform provider that builds agility into the world's leading organizations, has been awarded the prestigious Silver Award from the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme in recognition of its continued commitment to supporting the UK Armed Forces community.

The Defence Employer Recognition Scheme acknowledges organisations that provide exceptional support to the Armed Forces community and align their corporate values with the UK Armed Forces Covenant, which Pega signed in 2021.

The Silver Award is reserved for companies who proactively demonstrate that service personnel and the armed forces community are not disadvantaged through their recruiting and selection processes due to their commitment to serve.

One of the key ways in which Pega has evidenced its commitment is through its partnership and support of TechVets, a programme within The Forces Employment Charity. TechVets’ mission is to alleviate the issue of unemployment and underemployment in the Armed Forces community by ensuring all veterans, service leavers, reservists, and their families can combine their military and life experience with leading digital skills to gain sustainable information technology careers. Application skills are in high demand in the UK market, and Pega, with its AI-powered decisioning and workflow automation platform, offers a rewarding career option to TechVets members.

Quotes & Commentary
“Pega is a truly worthy recipient of the Silver Award, and I am proud to work for a company that is so committed to supporting veterans and the wider service community under the UK Armed Forces Covenant,” said Tom McKay, project delivery leader at Pega, and Royal Navy veteran. “The impact it’s had on my recent transition out of the Royal Navy into a second career within the tech sector cannot be understated. Pega has provided me with training, an incredibly warm welcome, as well as access to coaches, mentors, and role-models who together have made for a smooth transition into the organisation. From my short time with the company, I have witnessed first-hand its commitment to the service community and willingness to recognise the individual skills and adaptability veterans have to offer.”
