Pegasystems expands University Academic Program to increase employment opportunities for students around the world
Curriculum enables students to learn sought-after IT skills and more successfully enter the workforce at top enterprises
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Dec. 21, 2016 – Pegasystems Inc. (NASDAQ: PEGA), the software company empowering customer engagement for the world’s leading enterprises, today announced the expansion of its University Academic Program to enhance the skills and readiness of next-generation IT professionals. The initial pilot program, which launched earlier this year at select universities in the United States and India, has now expanded globally into the Americas, EMEA, and APAC regions to better prepare students for tech careers upon graduation.
To keep up with today’s rapid pace of technological change, IT professionals need to continuously develop their skillsets and expertise. Organizations – including Pega’s global 3000 clients – seek to hire individuals with the most up-to-date skills to build, maintain, and advance the technology that provides a competitive advantage. To help meet increasing professional demands and improve job opportunities for graduating seniors, Pega launched the University Academic Program to train students on the in-demand skills its clients are seeking.
Through the University Academic Program, students majoring in computer science, business information technology, or computer information systems can supplement their existing academic curriculum while preparing for professional IT certification. Students will develop a strong foundation in intelligent business process management (iBPM) skills based on the industry-leading Pega® Platform used by many of the world’s top organizations. In early 2017, the curriculum will expand to include a decisioning and analytics course to prepare students for the increasing needs of businesses implementing Pega’s artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities within their organization.
The current program consists of 19 universities with plans to expand to more schools in the coming year. For more information on the University Academic Program, please visit: https://academy.pega.com/

“As companies continue to future-proof their organizations by implementing more advanced technology, they need employees equipped to adapt their systems at the speed of business to outpace their competition,” said Max Mayer, senior vice president, corporate development, Pegasystems. “The University Academic Program is a win-win in that it prepares students with valuable, in-demand skills and certifications that make them indispensable resources, which in turn allows our clients to perform at optimal levels and focus on what’s important: fulfilling the needs of their customers."
