In this role you will be developing, assessing, testing, and optimizing AI prompts and agents throughout Pega GenAI Blueprint, powering our clients’ transformational needs.
This role involves leading prompt and agent design and success across LLMs and versions, researching LLM, prompt engineering, and agent advancements, and collaborating on and aligning design across Pega‘s AI architecture. This individual will be part of a team that is working directly with our Chief Product Officer on the Pega Blueprint SaaS offering.
What You'll Do at Pega:
- Develop and optimize prompts, prompt frameworks, and prompt strategies
- Design, test, and build software components for prompt execution and testing
- Design and develop agents and multi-agent solutions, execution, and testing
- Collaborate with data experts on prompt development, scalability, ethics, and evaluation
- Create prototypes and proofs-of-concept for new ideas
- Lead advancement in prompt engineering through research, collaboration, and education
- Partner with product managers to drive productization of ideas into shippable solutions
- Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences
Who You Are:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Linguistics, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in NLP or AI model development
- Expertise in prompt engineering and LLMs such as OpenAI GPT, Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude
- Strong programming skills in Python, as well as JavaScript or other scripting languages
- Knowledgeable in prompt design, measurement, and refinement, as well as managing LLM limitations and effectiveness
- Experience with RAG (Graph, Agentic, etc.) is a plus
- Strong communication and project leadership abilities
- You are able to work at the VP and C-level
- Teamwork and collaboration skills
- Must be local to Waltham, MA and able to come onsite 3 days per week
What You've Accomplished:
- 5+ years of development experience preferably in a product development company
- Strong knowledge of programming language like Python, Java
- Need to be strong problem solver and critical thinker
- In-depth knowledge of prompt engineering and optimization
- In-depth knowledge in multi-agent solutions
- Proficiency with LLMs and versions, and their trade-off
- Knowledge on harnessing multi-modal and streaming capabilities of modern LLMs
- Familiarity with Git, Docker, Kubernetes and Kubernetes/Cloud architected solutions
- Strong communication skills

Additional Information
Base salary range for this role is 106,200 - 158,900 USD annually. This role may also be eligible for annual bonus OR commission, as well as benefits and other incentives.
The final compensation will be determined during the offer process based on the candidate's education, experience, skills, and qualifications, as well as market conditions and may vary from the posted range. We will share an information on benefits, bonus/commission, and other pay components for this role at the relevant recruitment stage.
