Senior Release Engineer
Meet Our Team:
Cloud Release management will collaborate will all the engineering teams within the TSO organization and advocate for quality delivery of products for both internal and external Pega Cloud clients. The team responsible for the software release management lifecycle, including Planning of the software releases, tracking, risk management, testing, communication, and release/deployment along with it focusing on coordinating various aspects of production and projects into one integrated solution.

At Pega, in this position, the technologies you will lead with include Pega Cloud hosted on multi-cloud platforms (AWS, GCP), Microservices (Kubernetes, Docker), Databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra), Migration Tooling (AWS DMS, GCP DMS), GenAI (Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, GCP Gemini), Observability (Grafana), etc.
What You'll Do at Pega:
- Perform provisioning of new environments and upgrade of the infrastructure components using AWS & GCP
- Having hands on DevOps, continuous integration and development (CI/CD) tools & Jenkins, Github.
- Create deployment automation scripts for new regions onboarding
- Improve build and release efficiency and propose improvements in quality gates into CI/CD pipelines
- Identify opportunities for automation of repeated tasks and reduce toil
- Strategize and manage key Pega Cloud deployment, migration, and implementation projects, and work closely with project sponsors, cross-functional teams, to deliver desired outcomes in a timely manner.
- Plan and develop scope, deliverables, required resources, work plan, and timing for new initiatives.
- Aggregate, organize, and synthesize program and project information to clearly communicate with multiple stakeholders.
- Define, collect, and measure the success of the project through relevant metrics and KPIs. Bring in assessment protocols for evaluation and improvement.
- Manage complex program executions, partner with the working team to proactively identify risks/opportunities and surface recommendations and learnings.
- Create, review, and update operational runbooks and Standard Operating Procedures
Who You Are:
- Proven professional and technical experience in an enterprise cloud environment supporting SAAS applications with a focus on operational delivery excellence and customer service
- Hands-on experience on scripting languages such as Python and Lambda, and configuration management tool such as Ansible
- Having hands on DevOps, continuous integration and development (CI/CD) tools & Jenkins, GitHub.
- You are self-motivated, inquisitive, and creative, with a passion for continuous improvement and excellent people skills
- Works well with cross-functional global and remote teams
- Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies, techniques, and tools quickly to meet our business requirements
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, enterprise environment
- Possess customer obsession and proven empathy towards customers
Education / Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science/engineering or equivalent
- AWS / GCP Certification, a plus
- Good understanding on ITIL process specifically – Incident, Change, Problem, Service Request etc
- Pega experience, a plus
What You've Accomplished:
You are skilled in Cloud, Linux, and DevOps Technologies, and have accomplished the below:
- 5+ years of hands-on operational experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting Java applications and Apache Tomcat application servers
- 2+ years of hands-on operational experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- 5+ years of executing technical projects with experience navigating technical dependencies, stakeholder alignment, resource management, operational readiness, and cross-team delivery in a global environment.
- Having hands on DevOps, continuous integration and development (CI/CD) tools & Jenkins, Github.
- Create deployment automation scripts for new regions onboarding
- Improve build and release efficiency and propose improvements in quality gates into CI/CD pipelines
- Identify opportunities for automation of repeated tasks and reduce toil
- Deep understanding of cloud-based infrastructure, platform, and application operational administration - including product and platform upgrades, installations, backup, and recovery, monitoring and observability, etc.
- Ability to work in a flexible self-managed team environment, advanced teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate and negotiate with other groups and manage conflict
- Proven ability to interact directly with clients at all levels and demonstrate effective communication and client-facing skills including managing stressful situations and expectations
