Cloud Security Engineer

Cloud Cybersecurity Services is responsible for solving low-layer needs of Pega Cloud clients. The team relies on decades of IT experience to rapidly architect, develop and deploy solutions for complex security and networking problems. We follow process-oriented and adopts LEAN principles to continuously improve solution speed and quality. Our team partners closely with the Cloud Service Reliability and Cloud Engineering teams to ensure every solution is secure, reliable, available, and observable.

What You'll Do at Pega:
Design, build, and operate cloud‑native infrastructure and platforms using AWS and GCP, with a strong focus on security, scalability, and reliability.
Develop microservices and APIs to support network security implementations, including security controls, automation workflows, and internal cloud security services.
Build and maintain containerized workloads using Kubernetes (EKS/GKE) and modern CI/CD practices.
Implement and manage infrastructure‑as‑code using Terraform, CloudFormation, and related tooling.
Develop and maintain automation and tooling using Python and/or Go, including serverless components (e.g., AWS Lambda) where appropriate.
Collaborate closely with platform, network, and security teams to design and deliver secure, highly available cloud solutions.
Represent Cloud Cybersecurity during incident response and resolution, contributing to root cause analysis and long‑term remediation.
Automate the delivery and lifecycle management of security solutions for internal platforms and client environments.
Who You Are:
Deep working knowledge of AWS or GCP, including core services, networking, and security constructs.
Experience building and operating microservices, preferably in cloud‑native environments.
Proficient in Python and/or Go, with real‑world experience writing production‑grade code.
Solid experience with infrastructure‑as‑code tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation.
Strong hands‑on experience with Kubernetes and container‑based architectures.
Strong understanding of cloud networking and security concepts, including VPC/VNet design, load balancing, identity, and access controls.
Comfortable working with Linux systems and core system administration concepts.
Passionate about cloud technologies, automation, and building secure platforms at scale.
What You've Accomplished:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
2+ years of experience in cloud development and Kubernetes.
Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python and Ansible
Knowledge of Kubernetes and Cloud and understanding of cloud security and best practices would be added advantage.
