At Pega, we believe that technology should empower everyone, regardless of ability. This core principle drives our unwavering commitment to accessibility, which is deeply embedded in our product strategy and company culture. We strive to create digital experiences that are not only powerful and efficient but also inherently inclusive.

Our dedication to accessibility extends beyond our product development. We actively encourage our teams to engage with the broader accessibility community and contribute their expertise to impactful initiatives. Recently, a cross-functional team from Pega Product Engineering, comprising designers, developers, quality assurance engineers, and accessibility specialists, took part in the Accessibility Internet Rally (AIR), organized by Knowbility.

AIR is a unique competition that challenges teams to build accessible websites for non-profit organizations. Its objective is to raise awareness about digital accessibility and empower non-profits to create inclusive online experiences. Our team, aptly named "Voyager," was paired with Solar Austin, a dedicated non-profit organization focused on promoting solar energy.

Voyager embarked on a two-month journey of collaboration and innovation. We established regular communication with Solar Austin, meticulously understanding their needs and vision. The challenge wasn't just building a website – it was building an accessible website and educating our client about the profound significance of inclusivity. Solar Austin, like many organizations, was new to the concept of digital accessibility.

Our team worked tirelessly to deliver a fully accessible website that met Solar Austin's specific requirements, including a vibrant and engaging user interface. We prioritized semantic HTML, ARIA attributes, and rigorous testing to ensure seamless navigation for users with disabilities.

The result was a resounding success. Solar Austin was delighted with their new website, which not only met their functional needs but also exemplified the power of inclusive design. The satisfaction of delivering on our commitment, on time, and leaving a happy, empowered client was truly rewarding.

This experience underscores Pega's commitment to accessibility. We actively support our teams in pursuing external initiatives like AIR, recognizing the value of contributing to the broader accessibility community. This commitment is reflected in our product strategy, where accessibility is not an afterthought but a fundamental design principle.

We believe that accessibility is not just a compliance requirement – it's a moral imperative. By fostering a culture of inclusivity and empowering our teams to champion accessibility, we are building a more equitable and accessible digital world for everyone. Pega is committed to leading the way.
