As the Senior Manager of Systems Engineering and Operations you will be a leader and a member of a Global Infrastructure Team that provides solutions and supports over 6000+ Pega users across the Globe.

You will establish and drive the strategic direction and roadmap for our Server, Storage, Data Center and Cloud environments always looking to improve and enhance a more efficient and secure environment for Pega. You will analyze the needs of the organization and match solutions that consider size, implementation, integration, functionality, and budget. Responsible for contributing to strategy and planning, acquisition and development, and operational management on short and long-term strategies for the IT and Technology departments. Serve as a Global Technical Lead/Architect for IT Infrastructure and work with the corporate teams, vendors and consultants to ensure effective execution of projects.
What You'll Do at Pega:
- Manage a global team of highly skilled Data Center engineers.
- Design and build highly secure and highly available Hybrid solutions for our Data Centers and Cloud Services.
- Cost analysis including evaluating, identifying areas of concern and reporting on-prem and cloud-hosting saving opportunities and issues.
- Incorporate new technology solutions after performing cost-benefit analyses and evaluating relevant data points and possible automated enhancements.
- Partner with management and leadership to identify needs and resolve issues. This includes researching the background of issue(s), identifying root causes, quantifying the scope and scale of issue(s), identifying possible solutions, making recommendations, and executing the solution.
- Active Hands-on support of projects, initiatives and daily tasks
- Review and negotiate purchases and renewals directly with vendors to right-size all services and platforms for best cost efficiency
Who You Are:
- Experienced hands-on manager of a global team of engineers and system engineers
- Skilled in designing and building highly secure and highly available Data Center, Server, Storage, and cloud-based systems.
- Able to evaluate and present new technology solutions after performing cost-benefit analyses and evaluating relevant data points.
- Proven strong customer service skills, working with management and leadership as well as directly with customers to identify and remediate issues with customer service being top priority. This includes researching the background of issue(s), identifying root causes, quantifying the scope and scale of issue(s), identifying possible solutions, making recommendations, and executing the solution.
- Experience working with vendors to negotiate support renewals, contracts and services
What You've Accomplished:
- 7+ years technical infrastructure knowledge, including hands on experience with server operating systems such as Microsoft Windows Server, Linux, and VMware ESX
- 5+ years of people management experience
- Experience managing a technology footprint spanning all areas of IT infrastructure: operating systems/servers/storage, data center operations and patch management
- Experience with cloud-based infrastructure architecture and design, including orchestration and automation (AWS strongly recommended)
- Experience with scripting, automation and orchestration tools such as Ansible, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of SOX, ITGC, and ITIL
- Solid understanding of storage systems including SAN, NFS, and Object
- Strong skills in architecting, configuring, implementing, and supporting enterprise level systems in a highly available environment
- Exceptional multi-tasking skills. Ability to organize and execute on multiple high priority projects and tasks simultaneously
- Able to work in a highly dynamic, fast-paced environment, supporting a global user base and be responsible to ensure that development projects are well architected
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively deal with vendors and internal customer satisfaction at all levels in organization
- Excellent interpersonal, supervisory, organizational, and customer facing skills

Additional Information
Base salary range for this role is 146,300 - 227,100 USD annually. This role may also be eligible for annual bonus OR commission, as well as benefits and other incentives.
The final compensation will be determined during the offer process based on the candidate's education, experience, skills, and qualifications, as well as market conditions and may vary from the posted range. We will share an information on benefits, bonus/commission, and other pay components for this role at the relevant recruitment stage.
