We are The Expediters team, who is responsible for keeping the Infra and other components up to date, running the environments with stability 24x7 and enabling day-to-day business with lowered cost and no impact. This team is the first point of contact for all the developers in engineering for guidance and establishing the best practices and standards of a “as a Service” culture.
Picture Yourself at Pega:
As a Software Engineer Intern in the Software Delivery Excellence Alliance (SDEA), you will be in a key position to run the operations without a glitch while working on latest & emerging technologies in the market to develop and continuously improve the regular upgrades and deployments. You will interact and guide the engineering teams while also providing frequent feedback to the leadership for improvements.
What You'll Do at Pega:
- Assist in monitoring systems and environments to help detect issues and ensure high availability.
- Support efforts to improve system performance and scalability.
- Contribute to initiatives that safeguard environments and support recovery planning.
- Help identify areas for improvement and explore opportunities for automation.
- Participate in provisioning, deployment, and upgrade activities under the guidance of senior team members.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain a stable and healthy infrastructure environment.
- Perform basic checks, validations, and documentation for environment updates or upgrades.
- Learn to build and execute test automation scripts to help assess system stability.
Who You Are:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong interest in Cloud and DevOps technologies and eager to develop hands-on skills in this area.
- Basic understanding or coursework experience with Linux, Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar tools.
- Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or other cloud platforms is a plus.
- Exposure to programming languages such as Java, Kotlin, or Python.
- Curious, proactive learner who enjoys problem-solving and working in a team environment.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
What You've Accomplished:
- Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving abilities through coursework or projects.
- Shown creativity and an innovative approach to tackling technical challenges.
- Gained basic understanding of Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) and cloud-based applications through academic work or internships.
- Acquired hands-on or introductory experience with Kubernetes or similar cloud orchestration tools in labs, personal projects, or university assignments.

Additonal Information:
The pay range for this role is $32.00- $37.00 per hour. Final compensation will be determined during the offer process based on the candidate’s education, experience, skills, and qualifications, as well as market conditions, and may vary from the posted range.
