Pega EU Service Boundary

Beyond data residency is real digital sovereignty

The Pega EU Service Boundary (EUSB) gives organizations operating in Europe stronger control over where your data lives, who can access it, and how it's managed – without compromising the platform capabilities you rely on every day.

Built for the sovereignty Europe expects

Storing your data in the EU is no longer enough.
Today's regulators, auditors, and procurement teams want operational sovereignty – and the EUSB is designed to deliver it.

EU-resident operations, around the clock

Every aspect of your day-to-day cloud management, support, and operations is handled exclusively by EU-resident personnel through Pega's Global Operations Center, which is isolated within the EU Service Boundary, giving you a clear, auditable answer to who touched your environment.

Your data stays in-boundary

Your cloud data storage, cloud file storage, decision data storage, and data backups are always stored within the EUSB, so in normal operations your critical data never leaves the region.

Access controls you can demonstrate

Role-based access controls, least-privilege principles, MFA, and full logging and monitoring are applied across your boundary, making every access event traceable, auditable, and designed to satisfy even the most thorough internal assurance teams.

Encryption keys you own

BYOK encryption is required for your most sensitive data fields, with your keys held outside your Pega environment under your control, meaning even Pega operations personnel cannot access that data without your authorization.

Sovereignty starts at the infrastructure layer. Purpose-built for Europe.

Unlike standard cloud deployments with EU region options, the AWS European Sovereign Cloud is a fully independent, separately operated cloud infrastructure with its own governance, legal protections, and technical controls designed specifically for European organizations like yours. Pega fully leverages these commitments to power the EUSB, giving you sovereignty assurances at every layer of your stack, from infrastructure up through operations.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Pega EU Service Boundary (EUSB) is an as-a-service offering through which Pega commits with to store and process your Client Data within a designated AWS European Sovereign Cloud region. The EU Service Boundary is designed to help you address your data residency and data protection obligations under European law, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). It is built on the AWS European Sovereign Cloud an independently operated cloud for Europe that meets stringent data residency, operational autonomy, and resiliency requirements backed by rigorous technical controls and legal protections. The EUSB supports, but does not replace, your own compliance program: you remain the controller of your Client Personal Data and configure your applications, encryption, and data practices accordingly.

Supported products include Pega Platform, Pega Sales Automation, Pega Customer Service, Pega Process AI, Pega Smart Dispute, Pega Smart Investigate, Pega Know Your Customer, Pega Client Lifecycle Management, the Deployment Manager service, Pega Diagnostic Center, and Pega GenAI capabilities, along with applicable Pega Industry applications. Additional products, including Pega Customer Decision Hub and Pega Customer Risk Decision Hub, are planned for the second half of 2026.

Within the EU Service Boundary, the operations personnel responsible for the primary functions of maintaining, securing, and ensuring the availability and performance of your Pega Cloud services are EU residents. Routine administration runs through the Pega Global Operations Center, which resides exclusively within the EU Service Boundary, supported by self-service and automated tooling that lets Pega manage its fleet without accessing systems that contain Client Data.

To operate within the EU Service Boundary, purchase the Pega EU Service Boundary offering.  Your environments are then deployed in the AWS EU-Sovereign Brandenburg (Germany) region and controlled by Pega’s EU Service Boundary commitments.  Confirm that the Pega products you intend to use are supported and configure client-managed encryption using the Bring Your Own Key (BYOK) feature.
