Lead Business Architect

You will work alongside agency executives, business stakeholders, architects, and delivery teams to shape transformation initiatives, align organizational priorities, and ensure solutions deliver measurable mission outcomes.

Pega is changing the way the world builds software. As a Solution Designer Lead Business Architect, you will serve as the senior business advisor on client engagements, helping federal, state, and local agencies transform how work gets done. 

You are more than a business analyst or process designer. You are a trusted consultant who understands agency missions, uncovers root causes, challenges assumptions, and guides stakeholders toward the right solution. You connect business strategy, user needs, organizational realities, and solution design to ensure agencies invest in initiatives that create the greatest mission impact. 

Working closely with agency leadership, subject matter experts, System Architects, and delivery teams, you will leverage modern design practices and Pega Blueprint to guide organizations from current-state challenges to future-state outcomes. 

What You'll Do at Pega:

• Own the end-to-end business architecture and transformation direction for assigned client engagements. 
• Own discovery strategy and business architecture for complex U.S. Public Sector engagements. 
• Lead executive workshops, stakeholder alignment sessions, and business discovery efforts to identify mission priorities, business challenges, and transformation opportunities. 
• Guide agencies in defining business outcomes, success measures, adoption goals, and value realization strategies. 
• Own business outcome realization by ensuring discovery, solution design, adoption, and organizational readiness remain aligned throughout the engagement. 
• Guide executive stakeholders through prioritization decisions, helping agencies balance mission value, risk, complexity, and organizational readiness. 
• Lead the creation of implementation-ready business designs including journeys, personas, business processes, case lifecycles, business rules, and operating models leveraging Pega Blueprint and Pega Infinity Platform. 
• Apply design thinking and Journey-Centric delivery practices to drive user-focused and outcome-driven solutions. 
• Challenge assumptions, identify root causes, and help agencies solve underlying business problems rather than symptoms. 
• Drive alignment across executives, program leaders, business stakeholders, architects, and delivery teams. 
• Lead organizational change discussions and identify adoption of risks, cultural barriers, and operational constraints that may impact solution success. 
• Partner with Lead System Architects to ensure mission objectives, solution design, and technical architecture remain aligned throughout delivery. 
• Guide solution conceptualization and opportunity development by identifying unmet agency needs and transformation opportunities. 

Who You Are:

• Maintains active Pega Lead Business Architect certification and demonstrates an ongoing commitment to staying current with the latest Pega platform innovations, capabilities, and best practices. 
• A consulting-minded leader with experience delivering enterprise-scale transformation initiatives for federal, state, or local government agencies. 
• Skilled in discovery leadership, facilitation, design thinking, stakeholder management, organizational change, business architecture, and outcome-driven design.
• A trusted advisor who builds executive confidence, influences decisions, and aligns diverse stakeholders around mission outcomes.
• Experienced bridging business and technical teams to create shared understanding, informed decisions, and successful delivery.
• Understands organizational change, user adoption, governance models, and the human factors that influence transformation success.
• Comfortable navigating complex government stakeholder environments, competing priorities, regulatory requirements, and organizational dynamics.

• Led business transformation initiatives that deliver measurable improvements in efficiency, service outcomes, stakeholder satisfaction, and organizational performance. 
• Facilitated executive-level workshops, discovery engagements, and strategic planning activities across complex organizations. 
• Developed business architectures and operating models that successfully guided implementation and organizational adoption. 
• Successfully aligned business stakeholders, technical teams, and organizational leadership around shared transformation objectives. 
• Built credibility with clients through strong consulting skills, executive communication, stakeholder leadership, and delivery success. 
• Mentored Business Architects and contributed to the growth of consulting capabilities and delivery excellence.

Additional Information

Base salary range for this role is 141,400 - 215,400 USD annually. This role may also be eligible for annual bonus OR commission, as well as benefits and other incentives.

The final compensation will be determined during the offer process based on the candidate's education, experience, skills, and qualifications, as well as market conditions and may vary from the posted range. We will share an information on benefits, bonus/commission, and other pay components for this role at the relevant recruitment stage.
