Alan Trefler is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Pegasystems. He also serves as Chairman of the Pegasystems Board of Directors.
Alan was named The American Business Award's “Software CEO of the Year” for 2009. He was also named “Public Company CEO of the Year” in 2011 by the Massachusetts Technology Leadership Council. Alan has frequently presented to international audiences, written for major publications, and consulted extensively in the use of advanced technologies and work automation. In 2011, Alan was a keynote presenter at the Baron Funds Conference. He has been profiled in national print and broadcast media including CNBC, Fox Business News, Fortune Magazine, Inc. Magazine, Forbes, The Boston Globe, The New York Times, Bloomberg Television, Barron’s, Reuters, and Investor’s Business Daily. Alan has also been named the inventor of five issued US patents and several US and international patent applications for Pegasystems' distinctive Inherited Rule-Based Architecture, which provides the framework for Pegasystems' rules-based Business Process Management (BPM) solutions.
Alan’s interest in computers originates from collegiate involvement in tournament chess, where he achieved a Master rating and was co-champion of the 1975 World Open Chess Championship. His passion and support for chess and the game’s community and current champions continues to this day. Alan holds a degree with distinction in Economics and Computer Science from Dartmouth College.
Rafeal E. Brown is Chief Financial Officer, Chief Administrative Officer, and Senior Vice President, Pegasystems; he leads Pegasystems' Finance, Legal, IT, and Facilities operations.
Rafe is a finance veteran with more than 20 years' experience. He was previously a Senior Vice President in the finance group at Salesforce.com. Over the course of his nine years there, he led the treasury and tax functions, real estate, and collections teams. Prior to that, he worked at Cisco Systems, and began his career with Arthur Andersen in 1991.
Rafe is a certified public accountant. He graduated from Southern Utah University with a Bachelor's Degree in accounting and earned a Master's Degree in accounting from Brigham Young University.
Kerim Akgonul is the Senior Vice President of Product Management and CRM Technologies, responsible for our BPM, Case Management, Decisioning, Mobile, Customer Service, Sales Force Automation, and Marketing Automation products. Kerim has been with Pegasystems for over 20 years, spending his first 10 years in the Engineering department developing Products and Solutions for Financial Services and Insurance customers. With his extensive knowledge of Pega technology, he moved into Product Management where he successfully drove efforts to commercialize our BPM products. Since then he has helped establish Pegasystems as a Leader in the BPM and Case Management markets, as well as the development of our eLearning Platform PegaAcademy.com. Kerim holds a BS in Mathematics and Computer Science from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
Louis is Senior Vice President, Business Unit Management at Pegasystems. He is a visionary software executive who develops and executes winning business unit strategies.
Louis manages Pega’s business lines. He has successfully grown sales, revenue and margins at several software companies. As the Chief Product Officer at ACI Worldwide, Louis led a team that grew revenue and helped turn the company profitable. As Senior Vice President of Strategy and Business Development at CA, Louis grew the Enterprise Management business and greatly improved profits. As President of the EMG Business Unit at Peregrine Systems, he created the e-Business unit and turned it profitable. Louis started his career in research and development at Wang Laboratories and led the development of next-generation network-based applications at AT&T and Logica. Louis was also a Partner at Andersen Worldwide.
Louis received a doctorate and masters degree from Boston University. Louis taught Boston University’s first course offered on human factors in computers, and has written many journal articles and book chapters on the subject of user centered design, systems management, and payments. He has also attended executive management training at the Wharton Business School at the University of Pennsylvania and Harvard Business School.
Douglas Kra is Senior Vice President of Global Customer Success. In this role, he oversees Sales and Consulting for EMEA, APAC and Japan.
Douglas brings more than 20 years of success in providing leading organizations with solutions to complex business challenges. Before coming to Pega in 2004, he was Vice President with eLoyalty, and before that served as President of the internet services company, Zefer. Prior to that, he spent nearly ten years with Cambridge Technology Partners (CTP), where he built and managed both strategic account programs and held P&L responsibility for major CTP geographies. Douglas has also served as a software engineer for other large technology companies earlier in his career.
Douglas holds a B.A. in computer science from Brandeis University, and an MBA from New York University's Stern School of Business.
Max Mayer is Senior Vice President of Corporate Development for Pegasystems, responsible for driving the company's integrated strategy and development process.
Max brings more than two decades of experience in successful executive management to Pegasystems, most recently as the head of The Mayer Group, which served as management consultants to more than a dozen technology companies. Previously, he was president of a $400 million, publicly traded telecommunications company, and prior to that, spent 15 years with Digital Equipment Corporation.
Max holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Pennsylvania, and an MBA from Boston University. He has also completed executive education at Insead in Fountainbleau, France.
Mike Pyle is Senior Vice President of Engineering and Product Development at Pegasystems. In this role, he is responsible for leading a growing worldwide team of developers with diverse skill sets in business and engineering disciplines.
Joining Pegasystems in 1985, when it was a 20-person company, as Manager of Applications Development, Mike has been instrumental in evolving the technical architecture and feature content of Pegasystems' products to meet important business challenges. He has also worked extensively in the field with Pegasystems customers to deploy the company's solutions in mission-critical operational areas.
Prior to joining Pegasystems, Mike's professional background encompassed software development and managerial experience throughout Europe and the United States. He has specialized in developing large-scale communications systems for a diverse span of applications and industries, including financial services and manufacturing. Mike began his computer career in government service in the United Kingdom.
Mike holds a BCS degree from the Civil Service College in London, with specializations in operating systems and systems programming.
Robert Tas is the Chief Marketing Officer and Senior Vice President at Pegasystems. He leads Pegasystems' marketing globally, including brand, advertising, communications, product marketing and field activation teams.
Robert is a marketing and operations executive with over 25 years' experience. He was previously Managing Director, Head of Digital Marketing at JP Morgan Chase & Co. (JPMC). During his three years at JPMC, Robert built and led the Digital Marketing Group globally, which served both JP Morgan's wholesale business and Chase's consumer business. Prior to JPMC, Robert was a pioneer in the internet digital media industry, working at such companies as Tacoda Systems, 24/7 Real Media and a company he founded, Sportgenic, which was sold to Glam Media in 2010. Prior experiences also include a strong enterprise technology background from Sybase, CommerceOne, and eGain, where Robert held various executive sales, product, and marketing positions. Robert currently serves the boards of the Association of National Advertisers, the Ad Council, and the Mobile Marketing Association.
Leon Trefler is Senior Vice President of Global Customer Success. In this role, he oversees Sales and Consulting for the Americas as well as Global Alliances.
Leon has held key management positions with increasing responsibility across the organization during his 16 years with Pega. These titles include Head of Global Sales, and, previously, Vice President of Sales for North America. In 2002, he launched the commercialization of Pegasystems' flagship BPM solution. He started at Pega in 1998 as an account executive for strategic business development.
Leon holds a B.A. degree from Dartmouth College.
Jeff Yanagi is Pegasystems’ Vice President of Human Capital, responsible for all Human Resources functions of the organization, including employment, compensation and benefits, training and development, organizational development and employee relations.
Jeff has more than 20 years of direct experience in Human Resources leading teams and managing operational functions for high tech companies such as Wang Laboratories, Lotus Development and CMGI Inc. He also previously managed organizational effectiveness, employee relations, leadership and employee development, talent acquisition, compensation programs and diversity as Managing Director at FleetBoston Financial Corporation.
Immediately prior to joining Pegasystems, Jeff served as Vice President of Administration and Finance for Merrimack College in North Andover, Mass., where his responsibilities included oversight of Human Resources, Fiscal Affairs, Legal and other departments.
Jeff holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Rutgers University.
