Pega's 1-1 customer engagement solution, Customer Decision Hub (CDH), re-defines how large enterprises interact with the ever-changing needs of their customers across a variety of channels. The most critical part of any such application is the engine (our team), which in this case needs to handle and efficiently process massive amounts of data, apply appropriate analytical models, and facilitate scalable and performant orchestration of actions - both in real-time and batch. The next generation of this engine needs to take things to a new level – using cloud-native technologies and a service-based architecture to truly embody the SaaS model. In this role, as the manager of the CDH Engine team, you will be managing and promoting the career growth of a group of talented developers who are passionate about software engineering and customer success. You will be working on an industry-leading, analyst-recognized application and use cutting-edge technologies to solve interesting problems for the some of the top companies in the world.
At the onset of your Pega journey, you will get certified in the Pega development process – understanding how Pega uses model-driven development principles to allow for rapid application development. You will learn about CDH and how our clients leverage the product do deliver massive returns on their investments. You will be actively involved in team and product design sessions, helping shape the roadmap of the product while ensuring we continue to meet and exceed our clients’ expectations.
What You'll Do at Pega:
We're looking for a passionate engineering-minded individual who loves helping people grow and deliver outstanding products. As a Senior Engineering Manager, you will have three main areas of responsibility:
People Leadership
- Engage and develop a high-performing team aligned with Pega’s core values, fostering creativity and innovation
- Coach, mentor, and motivate team members and provide opportunities for their individual career growth
- Play an active role in the end-to-end recruitment process from attracting to onboarding
Technical/Functional/Tactical Delivery
- Actively participate in design sessions, sharing insights from your own experiences while continuing to learn and master Pega and CDH
- Ensure timely delivery of the team’s projects, while maintaining a high standard of quality
- Work closely with product manager and team members on deliverables
- Monitor support requests from clients and incorporate improvements in product and process based on conducting RCA or similar exercises
- Ensure tech debt is under control and managed well
- Utilize your software engineering and management experience to foresee problems and challenges, and guide the team to produce the optimal deliverable
Strategy
Review practices, plans, and results; and provide feedback for improving in various areas, such as development, quality, testing, performance, deployment, and security

What You've Accomplished:
You are foremost a leader. You also possess a deep technical background, which enables you to advocate for and support your team. To do this effectively, you have:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience as an engineering manager, and are well versed in all phases of managing individual contributors (hiring, onboarding, mentoring, continuous feedback, and talent assessment conversations)
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in software development, preferably in a product development company
- A Bachelors (or advanced) degree in Computer Science or similar field
- Experience delivering projects at scale using an Agile methodology
- Developed high performing teams and nurtured a culture of excellence and understanding
- Experience working with our technology stack: Java, RDBMS and NoSQL databases, REST services, Cloud deployments (AWS, Kubernetes, Docker)
