PegaWORLD 2015 started Sunday in full force at the Rosen Shingle Creek Hotel in Orlando. The day included hands-on training, Special Interest Group sessions, a 22-person chess match, and last but not least, our welcome reception.
Thousands of attendees from as far away as Australia and Japan turned out for the opening night held on the poolside terrace. Attendees were greeted with live reggae music, endless food options, and the chance to connect with old friends and peers. The evening was sponsored by Titanium PegaWORLD Sponsor Accenture.
Earlier in the evening Pega CEO Alan Trefler played chess against 22 attendees simultaneously. Alan spent more than two hours engaging with players, often conversing with them as they made their moves. The afternoon featured six vertical breakout sessions, known as Special Interest Groups (SIGs), market trends and digital transformation in specific industries. The two hour-long SIGs were a great way for attendees to be immersed in industry-specific discussions in open forums. This year, customers, analysts, partners and Pega thought leaders led the forums in front of packed rooms. Several customers in each market were also recognized for their successful transformation projects.
Earlier in the day were special sessions catering to partners, a golf tournament and pre-conference, hands-on training sessions that highlighted our strategic business applications. Deep-dive sessions gave attendees the chance to roll up their sleeves and learn firsthand about how to build mobile applications, building a multi-channel user interface, and how to empower business users to achieve project success.
