Senior Revenue Accountant

The revenue team is responsible for reporting the Company's revenue and related financial statement metrics in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and generally accepted accounting principles. In this role, you will work with the global revenue team to support monthly and quarterly revenue close activities, quarterly and annual SEC reporting, and process improvement initiatives. What You'll Do at Pega:
Revenue recognition & contract management
- Determine and document the appropriate revenue treatment of complex software arrangements, ensuring compliance with ASC 606 and the Company's revenue recognition policies.
- Partner cross-functionally with the Sales, Legal, and FP&A functions in the negotiation and deal structure of customer arrangements, to ensure favorable terms and accurate forecasting.
- Input and/or review relevant customer and transaction details into the order entry system, to ensure accurate invoicing and revenue recognition.
- Account for contract modifications by submitting credit memos and determining the revenue recognition impact.
- Complete month-end close activities, including processing journal entries for recurring revenue and maintaining balance sheet reconciliations.
Support quarterly and annual SEC reporting
- Produce clear and organized work papers that adequately support the Company’s SEC filings and the internal/external audit process.
- Perform fluctuation analyses to assess quarterly trends in revenue-related financial statement line items.
- Prepare revenue-related disclosures for 10-Q and 10-K filings.
- Assist with providing support to external and internal auditors for quarterly reviews, year-end corporate and statutory audits, and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance testing
Who You Are:
An ambitious and detail-oriented team player with strong critical-thinking, problem-solving, organizational, and technical revenue accounting skills. This individual has exceptional interpersonal skills, is results-oriented, and has the self-motivation to continuously learn and develop their skills.
What You've Accomplished:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- Chartered Accountant (ICAI) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- 3+ years of relevant work experience, either at an accounting firm supporting technology clients, or within the revenue function of an international public technology company
- 1+ year of technical revenue accounting experience, including reviewing multiple-element arrangements and developing a strong understanding of ASC 606
- Knowledge of billing and revenue processes preferred.
- Experience with SEC filings, including Form 10-Q & 10-K
- Experience working both independently and with a team to meet deadlines.
- Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Excel
- Proficient in MS Office tools, such as PowerPoint, Word, and PowerBI
- Experience with ERP systems; SAP and SAP RAR experience preferred.
