Texas Workforce Commission Selects Pegasystems for Modernization

Pegasystems partners with Cooper Consulting to transform constituent services

(NASDAQ: PEGA), the leader in Business Process Management (BPM) and a leading provider of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) solutions, today announced that the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) has selected Pega technology and Cooper Consulting Company to improve and revitalize its Unemployment Insurance Benefits System as part of a significant modernization initiative. The Commission, which fields 500,000 inbound monthly calls and handles an average of 1 million annual claims, plans to use Pega’s advanced Build for Change® technology to streamline operations and increase business agility in connection with its existing legacy system.

Pega technology enables the agency to quickly develop a solutions layer on its core benefits system that both citizens and employees will want to use.  The TWC, charged with providing support services, workforce development and administering unemployment benefits and tax programs, can become more agile and responsive to citizens by modernizing its legacy systems.  Recognized nationally for the effectiveness of its Unemployment Insurance Program, the TWC turned to Pega to gain improvements in call handling times and training times, among other business metrics.
