Pegasystems Delivers Greater Customer Care Systems Availability With Release of PegaSYSTEM 7.1
CAMBRIDGE, Mass.-- June 29, 2000-- Pegasystems Inc. (NASDAQ: PEGA), a leading provider of rules-based, Internet-architected electronic Customer Relationship Management (eCRM) software and solutions, today announced the availability of the PegaSYSTEM(TM) 7.1 upgrade for existing customer implementations. This release offers current Pegasystems customers increased uptime, capacity, and scalability in addition to the capabilities of earlier PegaSYSTEM releases.
PegaSYSTEM 7.1 includes PegaWORKS(TM), Pegasystems' patented rules engine, which standardizes an organization's best practices and automates workflow; PegaCONNECT(TM), providing connectivity to legacy applications and databases; and PegaCALL(TM), an interface to computer-telephony integration (CTI) functions. Combined, PegaSYSTEM 7.1 provides the essential rules-based architecture organizations need to streamline business processes and offer consistent customer service delivery across multiple channels.

Utilizing the same fundamental architecture as the current versions of PegaSYSTEM, version 7.1 provides a migration path for existing customers with very little disruption to previously defined workflows, interfaces, and user interactions. Version 7.1 is provided to existing customers at no additional charge, an upgrade as specified in their maintenance agreement.
With PegaSYSTEM 7.1, customers benefit from increased uptime with an Automatic Date Roll that allows the user to run their mission-critical systems all week and to schedule downtime at regular intervals. For example, the system can run 24 hours a day during the week, and be brought down only once during the weekend for maintenance. PegaSYSTEM 7.1 also offers substantially increased capacity and scalability, supporting up to 3.2 million new work items per day, as well as thousands of simultaneous users with minimal software changes.
PegaSYSTEM 7.1 is a core component of the Pegasystems Seven Series suite of products. Other Seven Series components include:
