Pegasystems Contributors Share IoT Thought Leadership and Vision for Manufacturing
Dr. Setrag Khoshafian and Carolyn Rostetter co-author chapter on disruption through IoT, big data, and dynamic case management in Workflow Management Coalition and Future Strategies publication
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – May 14, 2015 – Pegasystems Inc. (NASDAQ: PEGA), the software company empowering the world's leading enterprises with strategic business applications, today announced its collaboration with the Workflow Management Coalition (WfMC) and Future Strategies, Inc. for the completion of its annual book, this year titled "BPM Everywhere" (BPME). BPME represents the strategy for fully exploiting the wave of disruption facing every business for the next five years and beyond. The book addresses the reality of digital business and the impact of the Internet of Things (IoT) on today's businesses.
Pegasystems thought leaders Dr. Setrag Khoshafian, Chief Evangelist and Vice President of BPM Technology, and Carolyn Rostetter, Senior Director, Manufacturing & High Technology, co-authored a chapter in the book titled, Digital Prescriptive Maintenance: Disrupting Manufacturing through IoT, Big Data, and Dynamic Case Management. Dr. Khoshafian and Rostetter discuss prescriptive maintenance that goes beyond the realm of descriptive, preventive, and predictive. Prescriptive maintenance devices, in collaboration with operators, are pro-active participants in their own maintenance. From monitors and remote sensors, to appliances and vehicles, to tens of billions of other "things," connected devices are generating meaningful and informative data that would easily overwhelm any human being, but collectively they present critical context about processes and the state of operations.
Dr. Khoshafian has authored books, blogs, and articles on computing, the evolution of BPM, and the digitization of 'things.' For more than 25 years, he has invented, architected, and led the development of IoT and customer centric BPM solutions, as well as advanced database management systems research and development projects. Dr. Khoshafian currently serves on the Internet of Things Steering Committee for The Massachusetts Technology Leadership Council (MassTLC), one of the region's leading technology associations and a premier network for technology executives, entrepreneurs, investors, and policy leaders.
For nearly two decades Carolyn Rostetter has been a Business Optimization Leader in some of the world's most respected organizations. As a Master Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma, she provides vision and experience in areas such as Productivity, Quality, Strategic Planning, Change Management and Communications. She has led large scale Lean Six Sigma development programs in industries such as Banking and Finance, Media and Entertainment, and Manufacturing. Carolyn has successfully supported enterprise scale programs such as Compliance & Regulatory Services, NPS for Client Services, Organizational Transformation, Revenue Management & Treasury Services, Application Portfolio Optimization, Master Data Management, as well as Vendor Evaluation Services.
