CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – August 17, 2007Pegasystems Inc. (NASDAQ: PEGA), the leader in Business Process Management (BPM), today announced that Chief Information Officer Jo Hoppe has been named as a finalist for the Massachusetts Technology Leadership Council’s annual Technology Leadership Awards in the “CIO of the Year” category.  The Mass Technology Leadership Council’s Technology Leadership Awards honor Massachusetts companies and individuals who best exemplify leadership and excellence in business and technology. As CIO of Pegasystems, the leader in business process management (BPM) software, Ms. Hoppe is responsible for building enterprise class business solutions using her company’s flagship BPM product.  By using BPM as the foundation for internal business process automation in her workplace, Ms. Hoppe is able to improve efficiency at her company, while evaluating Pegasystems’ solutions firsthand.  She has been at Pegasystems for more than four years.
“We feel honored and proud that our own CIO, Jo Hoppe, has been recognized for her innovative nature and remarkable leadership abilities,” said Alan Trefler, chairman and CEO, Pegasystems.  “Jo is consistently impressive in her ability to build our Information infrastructure to best meet the needs, not only of Pegasystems but also of our customers.”
In addition to her business achievements, Ms. Hoppe sits on the Advisory Board for Future Forward, a technological think-tank sponsored by the business editor of the Boston Globe, and she is also a member of the Board of Directors of Teen Voices, a not-for-profit mentoring group/magazine for aspiring female journalists.  She is also VP of the Board of Directors (and President elect – 2008) for
the Boston Chapter of The Society for Information Management, a national professional organization of CIOs.  Before joining Pegasystems, Ms. Hoppe held a dual role at CMGI, Inc. as CIO of all of their wholly-owned companies and as an executive vice president and CTO of uBID, CMGI's $750 million online auction and eCommerce business.  Before that, she held CIO positions at Addison Wesley Longman and Houghton Mifflin Co.
Ms. Hoppe was recognized with the other four finalists in her category at an awards ceremony held on July 17 and attended by the region’s top technology and business professionals.  Winners will be announced at the Mass Technology Leadership Council’s Fall Awards Gala, to be held on October 18 at the Westin Copley Hotel in downtown Boston.
