Pegasystems Accredited With Authority To Operate (ATO) by United States Department of Agriculture
USDA implements Pega on top of its National Information Technology Center (NITC) platform to deliver Pega Platform–as-a-Service (PaaS) to the federal government.
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – April 9, 2014 – Pegasystems Inc. (NASDAQ: PEGA), the software company powering the digital enterprise with Better Business Software™ that helps organizations engage customers, simplify operations, and embrace change, today announced that its Pega for Government solution has passed all security and operational requirements by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and has been granted an Authority to Operate (ATO). The ATO showcases Pega’s ability to provide compliant, secure and agile solutions to federal agencies in a private cloud environment, enabling government agencies to better engage citizens, simplify operations and embrace change.
Pega’s ATO accreditation on NITC was received after going through the USDA Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) concurrency process, one of the most stringent federal compliance programs, which is fully aligned with the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) security controls. USDA’s Pega Platform–as-a-Service was validated using FedRAMP controls by Earthling Security, an accredited FedRAMP third party assessment organization (3PAO).
Pega’s solutions for government are designed from the ground up to allow government agencies and contractors to move more sensitive applications and data into the cloud by addressing their specific regulatory and compliance requirements. The ATO designation by the USDA provides validation for federal agencies that are evaluating Pega’s security protocols. With the completion of this ATO, multiple government agencies gain the benefit and insight of USDA’s concurrency process and have access to Pega Platform-as-a-Service in the USDA’s NITC environment.
