Principal Cloud Development Engineer

The Principal Cloud Development Engineer will design, develop and maintain the products in the cloud space that compete with the largest software companies in the world for business in largest and most prestigious brand. This individual will operate in the SCRUM methodology and work with the other team members and Product Management to design and develop new products, features, and releases.
In this role, you will:
Work with members of the Cloud Customer Experience team to productize new technologies.
Help enhance existing processes and procedures through documentation and implementation of new technologies.

What You'll Do at Pega:
Design, develop and maintain the products in the cloud space. Operate in the SCRUM methodology and work with the other team members and Product Management to design and develop new products, features, and releases. Participate in sprint grooming, planning, reviews and adhoc meetings. Design, develop and unit test high quality software which is fit for the purpose described by the technical requirements. Work with Quality assurance to develop test plans and strategies to improve the quality of the software. Mentor the other junior members of the team. Provide technical leadership and oversight to the team. Provide assistance to the customers of the cloud applications.
What You've Accomplished:
- Requires a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Electronic Engineering or related field and 7 years of experience in any job title/occupation/position involving Cloud Development.
- Experience specified must include 7 years of experience with: shell scripting; intermediate network, VPN, and routes; Linux.
- Experience specified must include 5 years of experience with: utilizing one or more of following technologies:
- AWS, GCP or Azure; Ansible; RDS and cloud database; web-services, WSDL, SOAP, MQ, JMS, configuration and troubleshooting integration services deployments within large scale distributed organizations;
- all phases of software development using scripting language (Python and Shell) or programming language (GO, Java, and C++);
- troubleshooting Docker or Tomcat applications;
- source control system administration (SVN, Bitbucket or GIT); and
- microservices.
- May live anywhere in the US. Telecommuting permitted.
