Enterprise Growth
As business process management applications grow and evolve, organizations must respond to new and growing demand from business users, new hardware topologies, and new integration and re-use requirements. Pega provides tools and methodology for all Pega projects to help speed and manage deployment and change.
Pega BPM provides a repository for business content and associated metadata based on standard relational databases. The repository supports layers or sets of business content that can be easily versioned, while the Pega process and rules engine drives the dynamic assembly and composition of business application behavior. Similarly, Pega provides a work object database for persistence of work, attachments, and correspondence. This database carries a wealth of information on work in process, completed work, and process operations.
Pega provides extensive instrumentation in all Pega components and the core engine to monitor potential performance issues and generate alerts. Examples include database operations exceeding a limit, burdensome amounts of data received from a database, calls to external systems exceeding a time limit, or lengthy end-user browser interaction times.
Pega’s education and consulting use a methodology and set of best practices for improvement, project management, and transformation that support growth from individual BPM projects to enterprise BPM Centers of Excellence.
As an enterprise builds BPM solutions and maturity, managing application servers, solution components and shared data pose challenges to growth and change. Pega BPM architecture allows organizations to adopt an evolutionary approach, increasing competence and business involvement as new solutions are created and changed. Pega also offers several solutions that extend and enhance the control and usability of BPM solutions and repositories:
- Autonomic Event Services (AES) monitors Pega BPM systems to provide views of the health of your solutions and recommendations for improvement. AES presents a visual dashboard of the health of a Pega BPM solution, letting developers correct the real root cause of application or system slowdowns. In a production environment, AES flags issues that may arise due to increased workload or reconfigured applications.
- Business Intelligence Exchange (BIX) extracts case data and other information from multiple Pega BPM solutions for advanced Business Intelligence and Analytics. BIX allows a data analyst to select the specific data needed from one or more Pega BPM systems, and to automate the extraction of this data for use in a Data Warehouse or other external analytics environment.
Key Capabilities
- A centralized asset repository which enables enterprise level governance by the Center of Excellence, improving project performance, compliance and audibility.
- Combine case and system data from Pega BPM applications with data from external sources for a complete picture of the business in Data Warehousing or Data Mart applications.
- Monitor and respond to system health and performance issues using BPM workflow and automation to meet solution performance goals.
