Enterprise Deployment

Cut Time and Costs with Rapid Deployment to Multiple Platforms

With a heterogeneous technology environment to support, IT is forced to waste time replicating data and re-coding interfaces so that deploying each application becomes a slow, costly process.

Pegasystems delivers the deployment flexibility you need to truly scale your operations. Pega applications run common policies and procedures across multiple platforms and channels simultaneously, eliminating the need to replicate them each time you need a new business application. They can run concurrently in a wide variety of environments — from Windows, Linux, Solaris, IBM Systems z and AIX to IBM WebSphere, BEA WebLogic and Apache Tomcat. Policies and procedures can be stored in multiple databases simultaneously including Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server and IBM DB2.

Pega also offers the tools to support consistent interoperability and look-and-feel between Pega and other corporate applications. Applications can be mashed up using portlets, simple gadgets, and restful services. Pega also provides branding components to easily match Pega components’ look to corporate standards.

Pega provides a Web deployment environment called Internet Application Composer (IAC) that simplifies web deployment and allows an organization to control and change how applications look and interact on the web while maintaining security and performance in its internal processes. IAC lets organizations embed Pega BPM functions directly and securely into existing web sites, dramatically reducing time to market.

For IT, Pega offers a simple “change once, run everywhere” solution as changes can be deployed instantly to the appropriate environment from a single administration console. You can even combine patterns including batch, embedded and Web-based for unparalleled flexibility. With Pega’s enterprise deployment capabilities, you can:

  • Shorten the time to market for new applications by eliminating the need to duplicate application logic and processes that must run in disparate environments.
  • Start small and expand as needed to support specialize LOBs, different geographies, new customers and business functions.
  • Increase consistency across channels, platforms and both internal and external business units.

Key Capabilities

  • Comprehensive Administration Console — A monitoring dashboard and management cockpit all-in-one let you centrally manage the distribution and deployment of your Pega applications as well as gain insight into the root cause of application or system slowdowns.
  • Open Architecture — Pega’s robust SOA architecture and integration capabilities leverage the strengths of existing systems and channels.
  • Automated Testing and Deployment — Pegasystems automatically tests and validates changes made directly in an application to facilitate quick response to changing requirements. These changes are automatically distributed to the appropriate applications, with Pega technology generating the code that is needed by the applications.
  • Batch and Mainframe Deployment —Pega supports batch processing using either file listeners or a complete embedded batch implementation. A batch job (or any other application) can write files to a prescribed folder which the Pega listener automatically picks up and executes in high volume. Batch jobs (either JCL or Cobol) on mainframe z/OS systems can embed a Pega BPM instance to execute shared or private rules against Cobol copybooks or files, and results can update shared work objects or mainframe datasets.
