Director, Web Marketing



Scope of Responsibility:

  • The Pegasystems’ Web Marketing Director is responsible for making the company’s web marketing presence worthy of a global software leader. They must have exceptional web design and marketing instincts, with an ability to direct and manage the entire web site as well as web promotions that are measurably effective, attractive to a business audience, and aligned with the company’s overall messaging.
  • A key role will be to manage and direct the necessary IT services required for a high-performing and interactive web site. This includes monitoring outsourced or internal managed services.
  • Everyday this individual will show up and think about how to increase web visits and how to ensure that visitors come back, and that more and more of them choose to join the community. He or she will review the current news and announcements from the company and look to infuse the company’s various web presences with promotional content that will encourage visitors to return to the site, subscribe to the newsletter, download the company’s podcast series, bookmark a Pegasystems blog, and so on.
  • They will monitor the budget and effectiveness of the SEO campaigns, manage Google ad, keyword and placement campaigns, and will be compensated on showing measurable improvement and growth with special bonuses tied to demonstrating a sustained and improved performance over competitor web sites.
  • In addition, they will direct and edit web copy to ensure that the language is appealing to business readers where relevant, and that the search terms embedded are relevant to search engines.
  • Most importantly, this individual will be able to understand and embrace the company’s unique value proposition and translate this understanding to quick, insightful, eye catching and mind catching concepts and campaigns that will strongly differentiate the company in its marketplace and show sustainable organic growth in mind share measured by web growth and competitive ranking.
Web Marketing Director Responsibilities:
  • Drive and create continuous improvement to the web
  • Launch and manage web marketing campaigns
  • Manage internal team and IT services relationship
  • Author and design based marketing advertisements
  • Edit and re-write web copy on the company’s web site
  • Manage and measure Internet advertising
  • Use SEO basics in updating web copy
  • Work with content experts to gather promotional content
  • Work with internal or third-party creative talent
Primary Skills & Experience Criteria:
  • Written and Verbal Skills - Demonstrates outstanding technical writing and editing skills
  • Managed IT Services – Past experience working with IT services, including managed services from agencies
  • Web Authoring and Design - Experience using Adobe CS4 products especially Dreamweaver.
  • Organizational Ability - Ability to juggle multiple priorities and manage multi-step research processes.
  • Able to gather and structure any data needed to guide strategic product and business development decisions.
  • Service Orientation - Professional, reassuring demeanor when addressing problems or issues.
  • Experience - Minimum of six years experience managing a web site of a large corporation; background in writing and developing marketing communications with top tier enterprise software company or agency equivalent.
